There are three focus areas of this research group: laser based displacement measurements, active structural acoustic control, and passive electro-mechanical altering of the dynamic response of structures. The selection of the three areas was based on past work that the group has done and information gathered during two trips by the group to NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). Some of the previous work and the travel was funded by a Year 1 NASA EPSCoR Preparation Grant.
