Student Support
Program begins June 15th and ends August 7th, 2009.
Complete applications are due February 27th, 2009.
Applicants will be notified of status March 20th, 2009.
Stipend
REU students will be working on funded projects during the 8-week period (Summer 2009) of the REU. Stipend paid to students will be $400.00 per week
($3,200.00 for the summer).
Housing
Housing accommodations on campus will be provided for all REU participants.
Travel to Moscow, ID for REU Program
All REU students will be reimbursed for up to $400 of travel expenses for travel to and from Moscow, Idaho for the REU program.
Travel to Conferences
All REU students producing results which are accepted for presentation at a conference or workshop in the United States will be
provided with up to $400 of travel expenses from the project grant so that they may attend (and, preferably, present) their work.
Equipment
Students will have access to the Laboratory for Computational Neuroscience and Technology Research facilities. General campus
computing facilities are also available: The University of Idaho is an Internet-II site, and has been named as one of the top most "Wired" campuses in the United States by Yahoo! consistently for the past few years.
Other Facilities
UI will provide lab and office space for participants. Participants will additionally be provided with UI identification cards that will give them unlimited access to campus computing, library, and recreational facilities and reduced admission fees to many campus events.
